In December of 2017 I was recruited to a team of photographers working on a project for the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival in Abu Dhabi. The task was simple but enormous - capture group portraits for each of 99 tribes gathering in Abu Dhabi as a celebration of the people and culture of the historical region. Each tribe would send as many as 100 representatives and all 99 group photos needed to happen in a little over an hour. Luckily I was part of a team. After the mission was accomplished, the real fun was grabbing candid images of the tribesmen as they got ready for a grand parade. It was an incredible experience for me to see a historical element of a city more often galloping towards the future.
